OBJECTIVE
Al Moltaqa Al Meccy is a profitable investor service center that aims to serve business sector with scientific and knowledge purposes through a group of urban and architectural elements. Besides carrying the Mecca Identity that was required by the investor, it provides various well-integrated spaces such as convention centers, sound & light exhibition halls, residential and commercial.
CHALLENGES
Design of a mixed-use hub that carries Mecca Identity via serving various spaces in high quality.
STUDIES
Location, accessibility in reference to main roads, noise, climatic studies and levels, contour studies are done to collect as various data as possible from site environment. The Building Complex is located in order to receive preferable prevailing wind (North-West) and block undesirable wind (South-East). Topography is re-thought with the entrances of the complex and used the maximum benefit of leveling in order to create innovative architectural solutions. A main axis for pedestrian circulation is designed as a public spine and minor vertical & horizontal circulation are attributed to it.
