Project Description

A modern environmental mixed-use complex located on King Abdul
Aziz road in Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, KSA.
The challenge was to achieve the client’s program requirements through a modern and unique design while taking in consideration the potential of the city as one of the most important Islamic spiritual destinations.
The complex consists of 4 towers – a hotel, offices, and serviced apartments -, 3 commercial floors as a podium, and 2 basement floors as a parking area. Three courts were integrated into the design of the complex to act as a public/ open space for promenades and entertainment activities as it was intended to be the main interest of the residents of the city.

The design of the building is unique in its use of 3 sets of brick morphologies to form the panels of the elevations which represents local and traditional building methods.
The main concept was to integrate open, public, and entertainment activities within the design of the complex to act as an attractor point for tourists and residents of the city achieving an optimum use for the facilities of the project. Also, creating a unique and modern design that takes in consideration environmental, functional, and aesthetic values and mixes well with the surrounding context and the architectural identity of the building.
